







RJ is widely recognized for his role as Earl in the film Me and Earl and the Dying Girl which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival to a standing ovation where it pulled off a rare double coup — winning both the “Grand Jury Prize” and the “Dramatic Audience Award.” However he received international acclaim after portraying the first superhero character on the autism spectrum — Blue Ranger and fan-favorite, Billy Cranston in the Lionsgate 2017 reboot of Power Rangers.
He followed up the superhero blockbuster with an unforgettable performance as gunslinger, Jim Beckwourth alongside Golden Globe Award-winner Idris Elba and Academy Award-winner Regina King in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall. RJ continues to stay busy and can most recently be seen as the male leads in the 2022 theatrical dramatic comedy Emergency and Issa Rae’s new HBO Max comedy series Rap Sh!t.
Audiences also recognize RJ for his work in I'm Dying Up Here — a Showtime drama executive- produced by Jim Carrey, CW’s Black Lightning as tech genius Todd Green, season 3 of MTV’s Scream: the Series, Netflix’s Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, DC Universe’s Swamp Thing, as well as the theatrical film White Boy Rick — a crime drama based on a true story.
